How to use these samples
1. Read one sample per essay type. Notice the four-paragraph structure: paraphrase + thesis, body 1, body 2, conclusion. Each paragraph has a specific job.
2. Copy the structure, not the words. The vocabulary in these samples is intentionally advanced — use it as a model for phrasing, but write your own arguments. Examiners reward relevant, specific ideas.
3. Submit your draft to the checker. After you write your own essay, paste it into the checker. You will get a band score and a criterion breakdown so you can see which sample you are closest to.
